Let me show you several things the Bible says that a person can lose. These are important things and if you lose them, you will be sad that you lost them.

1. You can lose time. Exodus 21:19
The Bible speaks about the loss of time. Sometimes you hear someone say, “Well, I’m just killing time.” Don’t kill time, you can never get it back.

2. You can lose hope. Ezekiel 19:5
Have you met anyone who has lost hope? Perhaps they are dying physically and they have lost hope of even living, or perhaps one has been married for years and they are about to be divorced and they lose hope.

3. You can lose wealth. Luke 15:8; Proverbs 23:4
There is nothing wrong with having money, but there is something wrong with money having you.

4. You can lose influence. Matthew 5:13
Have you ever met a person who has lost their influence?

5. You can lose your life. Judges 18:25
When a person is killed in a car wreck, we say they lost their life in that wreck.

6. You can lose your rewards. 1 Cor. 3:14-15

According to the Bible you can lose all these things and it is sad to lose all these things. But, the Bible says that the saddest thing you can lose is your soul. Jesus said in Mark 8:36-37
It would be better for a man never to be born than to die lost.
