Shannon Wexelberg - Story Of My Life

If I had the words to tell You
Exactly how I feel
Then I could fill a million pages
With all You’ve done for me

If I traced each memory
And the source of all my dreams
Cover to cover You’d see

You are the story of my life
I need You by my side
Both now and ever
You are the lover of my soul
No matter where I go
I know it’s true
The story of my life is You

If I turned the pages of
The things You’ve brought me through
There’d be a thread of faithfulness
In everything You do

I’d see where You washed me
Just as white as the snow
And how each day You’re helping me grow

You are my testimony
The reason I sing
I love to bring You glory
So may you always be
Found on every page of me

release materialistic things.
Be spiritually free and happy.
Your prosperity and path will

God of miracles

We recently read about this from the Jesus Film team:

A national missionary couple, Indian Bible translators Peter and Mary*, were working on the script of “JESUS” for speakers of the Lanka Kol language of East India. These unreached people (more than 1 million) are primarily animistic — worshippers of idols. Peter and Mary have been laboring to give them the New Testament. They were also helping to translate “JESUS,” praying that the graphic portrayal of the gospel through film and DVD presentations would help lead hundreds of thousands out of spiritual darkness into the kingdom of our Lord. Spiritual opposition was therefore stiff.

After many hurdles and months of work, they completed the script. We dispatched a recording team to spend a couple of weeks on site, recording primary speakers of Lanka Kol, working phrase-by-phrase, scene-by-scene, through “JESUS.” The team experienced similar opposition. First, there was the heat, 120 degrees heat, with 90 percent humidity! The men fell ill, and often fought fatigue. Then there were the equipment breakdowns and failures of electricity. Even though their digital recording equipment was state-of-the-art, the technicians said the computerized equipment would mysteriously “freak out” as they described it. More than once, the team thought they may not finish. One of the hard drives, on which the voice actors were recorded, just “died.” Through specific prayer, God allowed the second drive not to fail. As you will see, God Himself also intervened, quite directly.

During the days Peter and Mary were working on the script for “JESUS ” they were riding their motorcycle through Lanka Kol country. They told how they were forced to stop on the road. Huge logs had been laid down to impede their path. An angry mob of 20 men emerged from behind the trees, surrounding them — physical manifestations of the opposition. Anger was in their eyes.. .and large rocks were in their hands. This precious Indian couple, who had devoted their lives so the Lanka Kol people might understand the Word of God were about to be stoned to death. Peter and Mary had no way of escape. They did the only thing they could: pray and ask God For deliverance, to bring down His hand of protection. God answered. Before they had stopped praying, a fierce swarm of “eye flies” — insects that will literally attack a persons eyes - emerged from the jungle forest. As though in a scene from a biblical plague, the swarm descended on the mob, targeting each one with a vengeance. The men panicked. Struggling to bat the flies away from their faces, they dropped their stones and fled. Yet not one fly landed on Peter or Mary, who quickly rode around the logs and out of danger, praising and thanking God. They went on, free to complete the Lanka Kol translation of “JESUS.”

- just to save this soul of mine!

Baby JesusJesus on the cross

“I was sitting in a room with Lowell Alexander and as we were goofing around we came upon this melody and I said something like ‘that sounds like a fairy tale.’ This song was born out of that feeling. Surely the story of the Gospel must be a legend or something. It is too good to be true but it really is true. I can’t believe the God who is bigger than the universe would care enough for me to send His only Son to die for me. We have so much to be grateful for.” - Greg Long

GREG LONG - ‘Once Upon A Time’ (MP3 clip)

Once upon a time
a Son lay in a manger
Gentle tiny precious gift
sent from Heaven’s hand
Mother’s baby boy
tender as the starlight
Born with wonder in His eyes
Once upon a time

Once upon the sea
this Son walked on the water
And every eye that witnessed Him
witnessed miracles
He dared us to have faith
beyond imagination
To reach beyond humanity
Once upon the sea

This story that I’m telling you
Of love that never fails
May seem too good to be true
But it’s not a fairy tale

Once upon a tree
the Son became a Savior
A sacrifice of grand design
in the name of love
Hands nailed to the cross
with open arms to teach us
to reach out to humanity
Once upon a tree

God’s Son was born
And lived and died
Just to save this soul of mine
Once upon a time

From God's Word
1 Corinthians 15:1-4

My friends, I want you to remember the message that I preached and that you believed and trusted. You will be saved by this message, if you hold firmly to it. But if you don’t, your faith was all for nothing.
I told you the most important part of the message exactly as it was told to me. That part is:
Christ died for our sins,
as the Scriptures say.
He was buried,
and three days later
he was raised to life,
as the Scriptures say.

God has a plan

Monday, December 24th, 2007

On that night over 2,000 years ago, I’m sure Mary and Joseph didn’t plan on having Jesus in a stable. As they packed up their things for the journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem, they probably weren’t thinking that the baby would come when they were so far from home! And the wise men didn’t have a fully-developed plan. They just knew that they were following a star to the King. What a surprise when it led them to a lowly manger! Well, my friend, God had a plan then — and He’s got plans now! - Joni Eareckson Tada

From God's Word...
Jer. 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

The greatest gift of all

Baby Jesus

POINT OF GRACE - ‘This Gift’ (MP3 clip)

This gift was the greatest gift
that the world had ever known
God’s love in the form of
a little child from Heaven’s throne

Such joy,
Such hope,
Sent to earth from above
This gift, God’s greatest gift
Wrapped in Heaven’s love

What can you give to someone who’s hurting?
What can you share to calm a troubled heart?
In this season of hope just what can you offer
to someone whose life is torn apart?

The dreams of all eternity
were wrapped in a present so small
For God cared enough to give to you
the greatest gift of all

From God's Word...
Romans 6:23

Sin pays off with death. But God’s gift is eternal life given by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Matt. 11:28

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
