Point of Grace - How You Live

We’re taking a look at the new Point of Grace CD song by song. Today we’re looking at the song ‘On God’s Green Earth’.

Point of Grace
- On God’s Green Earth

On God’s green earth
The ocean swims in brilliant blue
The yellow sun warms me and you
Till it’s chased by an iridescent moon
On God’s green earth

On God’s green earth
The mountains climb with purple haze
Against a sky of stormy grays
There are ebony nights and silver days
On God’s green earth

We live, laugh and love and dance
Cause God makes all things beautiful and perfect in His hands
We rise from the ashes of our past
Cause we’ve learned the truth at last
Love is not blind
Every color shines
On God’s green earth

Reflecting on the creativity of God on display around us each day. His ability to take even the broken and hurting and restore them to be shining examples of His glory is amazing and awesome.

Sometimes obedience doesn’t make sense

Monday, August 20th, 2007

We’re reminded of this after reading the account of Namaan in the Bible…

From God's Word...
2 Kings 5:1-14

Many times our reaction is that of Naaman - where we decide if God’s word makes sense or not before we’ll take it seriously. Why was Naaman specifically told to wash seven times? Why was he told to wash in the Jordan river instead of another one which was just as good or probably cleaner?

The Enemy will fascinate you then assasinate you

Monday, August 20th, 2007

In 1992, Michael Anders (or Bro. Boogie as his friends call him) was sentenced to 10 years in a Federal Prison for two armed bank robberies in the St. Louis area. He was addicted to gambling and trying to feed the addiction any way he could.

“I was so desperate for money that I would beg, borrow or steal money just to support my gambling habit. I was into nothing but self and didn’t care about no one else. I had a family and it didn’t make no difference. When you have that addiction, people are just into themselves, they are self-centered, they don’t care about nothing except feed that addiction. And feeding that addiction was gambling. People say how could you get so involved, how could you get hung up like that? Because I was in the world, that’s how I got hung up like that. This is how the devil works. He will fascinate you then he will assasinate you. I got hung up in the bright lights and the thought of having money, and the thought of having ladies in my life and cars. At that time I wasn’t into the word of God, so I wasn’t trying to live according to the word of God, I was trying to live according to the world of the devil and that is how I got hung up.” - Michael Anders aka ‘Brother Boogie’
