Point of Grace - How You Live

We’re taking a look at the new Point of Grace CD song by song. Today we’re looking at the song ‘Fight’.

Point of Grace
- Fight

How clever is my pride
how it deceives my mind
To think I’m in control
when I’ve really lost it all

How brilliant is my greed
for what it says I need
And then I’ve come to find
I’m empty on the inside

Real, my heart is aching to be real
So I’m coming to You

All of my broken motives
All of my selfish dreams
All of my foolishness
Now I understand where it leads

I want to be in Your love
I want to be so much more
I know You’re reaching out
So what am I fighting You for?

So what am I fighting You for?

Coming to the end of ourself and realizing that our selfish nature is a dead end. There is no hope of change or real living outside of Christ. Why do we so often try to do the impossible ourselves when God offers us a solution in Him?

From God's Word...
Matthew 11:28-30

If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light.

Quote of the Day - ALATHEA

Alathea - Mandee Radford and Cristi Johnson

“A lot of the circles we find ourselves in, there’s this way your faith is supposed to look – a comparative evaluation based on where you go, what book you’re reading, what political agenda you align with – all of those things can be decent, but they’re measuring something that isn’t accurate. So it’s having the determination to say, ‘I’m going to figure out what my faith is about outside of the measuring stick – regardless of how that comes across.’ That’s becoming more and more of what we’re talking about and thinking through – just figuring out what is significant and what does matter, and how can we live in a way that we won’t miss everything good that’s happening because we’re trying to look good, to measure up.” - Cristi Johnson of Alathea
