POINT OF GRACE - God Believes In You

Point of Grace - How You Live

We’re taking a look at the new Point of Grace CD song by song. Today we’re looking at the song ‘God Believes In You’.

Point of Grace
- God Believes In You

You’re not hearing the answers
you’ve been praying for
You try and try
can’t find an open door

You’re not seeing the miracles
not a one in sight
And the way you feel
you sure need one tonight

Your faith is crumbling
Your feet are stumbling
It’s so hard to believe in Him

But He believes in you
When you’re at your weakest
And hope’s still burnin’ through the night
But you can’t see it
You know in your heart He loves you
But in those moments when you can’t believe it’s true
He believes in you

We all need to be reminded of this truth when doubt and frustration creep in and our faith is weak.

From God's Word...
Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I don’t know what Point of Grace meant when they said “God Believes In You”. It sounds like they’re saying God has “faith” in me? I’m sorry, but I don’t find that taught in Gods word. We are told over and over again that it’s supposed to be the other way around. We are to have faith not in ourselves, but in God. Not one passage can be found that says that God puts faith in anybody. He doesn’t need to. What comforts me when my faith is weak is that I know God loves me, and he is very gracious and merciful. Our faith gets weak when we take our spiritual eyes off of Jesus. When we refocus back on Jesus and who he is, then our faith will be strong. And as far as prayer is concerned, it’s purpose is to get God’s will done, not ours.

I think they are simply saying the Cross is an example of God’s belief that mankind is of immeasurable worth - and that includes you, me, everybody.
