SHANE & SHANE to release ‘PAGES’ AUG. 28
Tuesday, June 12th, 2007
Shane Everett and Shane Barnard are back with their first studio release in three years. Pages was named for a reference to the journal pages on which Barnard wrote much of the album and features the radio single, “We Love You Jesus.”
“I was looking out a coffee shop window, and I just got surprised with this song,” says Barnard. “I’m sure that this song, if it’s playing in the heavens, is much better than I’ve relayed here, but the song came so fast, it felt like it happened without me.”
Opening up his Bible after “hearing” the song, he turned to 1st Corinthians Chapter 15. “Death oh death, where is your sting, it has been swallowed up in victory,” read Barnard. He did not realize that the verse and the song would come to mean so much to him as shortly thereafter his father, a new believer, died. “I remember singing this a week after my dad died and I had this moment of praise. While I hope the song does well on radio, I feel like the reason this song happened is because God let me see that my dad is getting to see Him for the first time with unveiled eyes. I feel like the song has been a sweet gift from the Lord.”
What manner of love is this that you would say
Your sin is mine - I’ll take it to the grave (then rising)
Death oh death, where is your sting today?
Death is swallowed up in victory
We love You, Jesus!

Look for Shane & Shane on tour starting this August through November.
