Slanted Records Signs INHABITED

Friday, April 20th, 2007

Excited about their future together are (L-R) Slanted Records’ Phil Johnson, general manager and A&R director; Derek Bruner, national radio promoter; David Robinson, CFO and COO; and AnnJanette Cormier, director of marketing and (seated, L-R) Marcus Acker and Sara Delight, of Inhabited.

Slanted Records has just announced the signing of Texas-based rock band Inhabited to its family of artists. After months of getting to know each other and comparing visions, both Inhabited and Slanted are excited about the future, beginning with the band’s label debut slated to release in the fall of ’07.

Inhabited features front woman Sara Delight along with Marcus Acker (guitars/vocals), Chad Carouthers (bass/vocals) and Charlie Harper (drums). The band was the first artist in Christian radio history to chart as an independent band in the Top 20 on both CHR and rock radio formats (“Rescue Me”), prior to getting a record deal. The new release, produced by Monroe Jones (Third Day, Chris Rice, Mark Schultz) along with Acker, has just been completed.

Featuring a more versatile sound with increased dynamics, Inhabited’s release captures their straight ahead rock sound with more groove and greater punch. The vocal nuances and passion of Sara’s lead vocals continue to give the band its standout persona. Those renderings often come from deep-rooted convictions that inspired much of the writing for the project that features tunes from the pens of both Sara and Acker.

“So much of this album really has to do with love,” Sara describes. “We are commanded to love God with all of our hearts and to love our neighbors as ourselves. That overarching theme of love is a continuous thread throughout the album.”

“Getting to partner with a band like Inhabited is an honor for us,” stated Derek Bruner, national radio promoter for Slanted Records. “The level of ministry that they exemplify is inspiring, and their energy is contagious. I’m excited about the songs on this release and can’t wait for the marketplace to hear them.”

The first single from the new album is scheduled to hit radio in June, and the band is currently preparing for promotional tours and summer festivals including Ichthus among others. The band will be featured at radio and retail events and concerts throughout Gospel Music Week in Nashville, Tenn., in promotion of the new project.

The new release will be distributed through Word Distribution/WEA with digital distribution from EMI CMG Distribution. For further information, visit www.inhabitedtheband.com.
