The dangers of a false view of reality
Anything other than the truth is a lie. How many realities can there be? Only one - the true reality. For us as believers, we know the truth. For God has revealed truth to us in His word, creation, and in Jesus Christ. What are we going to do with that knowledge? Are we going to let people continue to believe a lie? Or will we share life-giving truth? The late Dr. Francis Schaeffer addressed this in this prophetic speech* given back in 1982 as he talks about the dangers of a false view of reality. We must be salt and light - to preserve and to show the way - otherwise the world will fall victim to the deception of a false view of reality - one that harms us, taking us further than we ever thought we’d go - eventually leading to death. The alternative to a worldview where our rights come from a Creator God - is not just a secular society, but a society that has no protection from the dangers of a fallen world. If our rights come from man, they can be taken away.
MP3 Audio from the speech:
- On the Founding Fathers…
- Public schools can only legally teach the false worldview
- Courts are the vehicle for this worldview
- Courts dictate what schools can teach against the will of the people
- Ramifications of abortion on the legal and medical professions
- The false worldview affects us all, the dangers are evidenced in history
- Liberal theology defined…
- The silence of Bible-believing Christians
- Where have we been?
- No one to blame but ourselves
- What about the ‘theocracy’ charge?
- Example of hidden censorship and the intolerance of the false worldview
- Seriousness of the situation
- True Spirituality means that Jesus is Lord of all of life
- Revival will bring social change
- What is loyalty to Christ worth to us?
- Christ must be the final Lord - and not Caesar and not society.
- A prayer…
Here are some important points that he made that we as believers need to think deeply about:
How much do you believe this is true?
Why are you a Christian?
Are you a Christian for some lesser reason or are you a Christian because you know this is the truth of reality?
How much do you love the Lord Jesus Christ?

If you believe that your view is the one and only, regardless of the fact it is total B***S***, you are a bigot, and a pyschological terrorist. You push your views on people who don\’t want to know about yor b***s***, who like to believe things that can acsually built on EVIDENCE. You are an idiot.

Hillary, thanks for the comments. I certainly don\’t believe my view is the one and only. My view means nothing. However, God\’s view is the one and only and means everything. That would be a scary statement if God was not trustworthy, kind, fair and loving. But thankfully He is and we can trust that what He says is true and has our best interests in mind. Now you can\’t judge God until you have the EVIDENCE of his nature and that only comes when you let Him have a relationship with you. Have you done that?

I heard that message by Francis Schaeffer, and it’s a real challenge to the entire church. I have had to evaluate and re-evaluate what my Christianity is, and why. And what does our faith really cost us?
Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.” He proved who He is by His life and love. He never “imposed” His own message on people, but allowed them to decide for themselves whether His message was the truth or not. “If anyone wishes to do (God’s) will, he will know whether the teaching is from God, or if I speak on my own authority.” Take it or leave it.
As for Hillary, it’s really sad that some people who disagree with a Christian worldview cannot do so without resorting to accusations of “psycological terrorism” and resorting to profanity to make their point. True Christians are not terrorists or dictators of truth. The truth is its own proof. Jesus is not a “terrorist” or a “rebel”–Indeed we are the rebels that He died for.
“O taste and see that the LORD is good”–That’s all I have to say.
