Blue on Blue

Leigh Nash’s CD BLUE ON BLUE is a beautiful collection of songs about love, family, and dreams coming true. BLUE ON BLUE was produced by Pierre Machand (Sarah Mclachlan/Rufus Wainwright/the Devlins, etc) and features co-writes with Matt Slocum, Ric Nowels and Ron Aniello among others.

Her beautiful, identifiable voice sings of songs of things of the human experience. Cloud Nine is a song about the kind of love that gives you true joy and strength “when I’m on your mind I’m on cloud nine”. It is both fun and meaningful at the same time. Nash sings in My Idea of Heaven “I never thought I’d get here, I was so far away, I didn’t believe in love, I thought it was just a game that people played”…. “how in GOD’s name, did you find the lonestar’s loneliest girl”.

“Nervous in the Light of Dawn” is a song about basic human desires and longings. “And I wished for guidance, and I wished for peace, and I wished for affection, and I wished for calm, as I lay there nervous in the light of dawn.” The oboe and upbeat piano music in the background make this a soothing and thought provoking offering.

Her songs about love, marriage, and God are refreshing and true. Her lyrics are uniquely catchy. BLUE ON BLUE is my recommendation for the week.
