Muriel Anderson on stage with Les Paul

Critically acclaimed fingerstyle guitarist Muriel Anderson recently joined legendary Les Paul on stage for a jam session at the Iridium jazz club in New York City. Muriel had been on WGN Radio 720 recently and Les Paul was listening on his ham radio and called into the station to invite Muriel to perform with him!
“As an innovator of multi-track recording and electric guitar technology, and with his personal style of music, he’s a regular walking piece of history” says Anderson of Les Paul. “Les has more great stories than just about anyone I know. He’s a great inspiration, still playing and entertaining an audience at age 91. I’m proud to call him a friend, and it’s always great fun to see him and exchange some tunes.”
Les returned the compliment by describing Muriel as “a great player and a great personality. She plays like we all wish to play.”
Muriel will be in Nashville next month performing at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society (CAAS) annual meeting. Check back here as we’ll have an online interview with her posted soon!

We have a transcript from an older interview with Muriel here.
I did a search of wgntv.com and didn’t see a transcript of her interview with WGN today. Keep checking their site, it might be there soon:
