Letting the Lord handle everything
Tuesday, June 13th, 2006…including our relationships. Some wisdom from Kerri Pomarolli:
I think I did all those crazy things because I didn’t know much about my Father God and the real gifts he had for me. I wish someone had sat me down and really talked to me about purity and true love, and why waiting to give my heart away to one special man was the greatest gift I could offer. Waiting, to me, was a decision based on fear, not a choice made out of obedience to God, knowing the abundant blessings I would receive in the end. Yes, I’m still waiting on all of them. I hate reading Christian books that are all about waiting on God and how hard it is, and then I come to find out the author has been happily married since she (or he) was nineteen! Doesn’t it seem like all Christians get married right after puberty? I mean, if you’re twenty-five, a Christian, and single, people need to be lifting you up in prayer—as my mother and her friends have been doing for years. “Oh Lord, please find a husband for Kerri and please let him have a job with health insurance.” (Yeah, we set the standard really high in my family.) I just want other women to believe in God’s perfect timing. No matter where you are or where you’ve been, it’s never too late to commit yourself to the Lord and let him handle everything in your life.
