All of life comes down to just one thing

Friday, June 30th, 2006

When you think about it, the important things in life are not what we look like, how successful we are, what kind of car we drive, or any of that stuff. It all comes down to one thing: Do we know Jesus or not? Only He can truly give us what we need to fill that empty spot in our soul. Only He can satisfy. Only He can heal us. Only He can forgive our sins and give us eternal life. All we have to do is come to Him. It’s mind boggling. The only thing we truly need - and the one thing we can’t do for ourselves - is kindly offered to us without us having to earn it!

Charlie Hall - Porch and Altar

Single minded, whole hearted, one thing I ask

That I may gaze upon your beauty Oh Lord
That I may seek your Holy Face
That I may know you in an intimate way
And follow after you all of my days

All of life comes down to just one thing
and that’s to know you, Oh Jesus
and make you known

From God's word...

Psalm 34:8

Discover for yourself that the LORD is kind. Come to him for protection, and you will be glad.

Muriel Anderson on stage with Les Paul

Muriel and Les - June of 2006

Critically acclaimed fingerstyle guitarist Muriel Anderson recently joined legendary Les Paul on stage for a jam session at the Iridium jazz club in New York City. Muriel had been on WGN Radio 720 recently and Les Paul was listening on his ham radio and called into the station to invite Muriel to perform with him!

“As an innovator of multi-track recording and electric guitar technology, and with his personal style of music, he’s a regular walking piece of history” says Anderson of Les Paul. “Les has more great stories than just about anyone I know. He’s a great inspiration, still playing and entertaining an audience at age 91. I’m proud to call him a friend, and it’s always great fun to see him and exchange some tunes.”

Les returned the compliment by describing Muriel as “a great player and a great personality. She plays like we all wish to play.”

Muriel will be in Nashville next month performing at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society (CAAS) annual meeting. Check back here as we’ll have an online interview with her posted soon!

New interview with Todd Agnew

Tuesday, June 27th, 2006

Todd Agnew

He was first heard on radio stations a couple of years ago singing of God’s ‘grace like rain’ falling down. His latest song ‘My Jesus’ has been the talk of many a listener and concert goer as it communicates a challenging message of repentance to the church. We met up with Todd recently and talked about that song - along with some other themes on his latest album such as holiness and beauty.

Barry Lynn comments about the case against IFI

Saturday, June 24th, 2006

Barry Lynn of Americans United for Separation of Church and State speaks about the recent court victory over Prison Fellowship’s IFI program on the ‘Way of the Master’ radio program.

The interview with Barry starts at the 6 minute mark and lasts about 13 minutes.

He is asked about what he is fighting for and what he believes the gospel is - to which he replies:

“it’s clear that there are alternative ways to know God” (besides Jesus Christ) …

What are those ‘clear’ alternatives to know God other than Jesus? How can a ‘minister of the gospel’ reject the following clear principle in scripture…

From God's word...

John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Acts 4:12
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.
