Watermark

Nathan and Christy Nockels are bringing the Watermark chapter of their lives to a close with the release of their final Watermark album which is in stores today. With the help of some of the friends they have made along the way, this record is a retrospective of the Watermark journey with a couple of new songs added as well - including the current radio hit ‘Light of the World’. Nathan and Christy may be moving on from Watermark, but don’t look for them to leave the scene anytime soon. Nathan is currently involved with the Passion conferences and producing records for other artists. Christy can be found adding her vocal talents on other artists’ records as well as leading worship and speaking at women’s conferences.

The persecuted church in America

Monday, March 13th, 2006

I heard a pastor once tell a story about a conversation he had with a friend who is a pastor from the persecuted church of Eastern Europe. His friend observed in God’s word that Satan works as either an ‘angel of light‘ or as a ‘roaring lion‘. He went on to say they fought the roaring lion back in his country. From his time visiting the U.S., he said that the enemy seemed to be working as an angel of light. Finally, he soberly stated that he’d rather fight the roaring lion.

Why would he say that? Well, to me it seems that it’s much harder to get people to put on the armor and fight a battle when they don’t even realize there is a war going on. I’d conclude that there is a persecuted church here in America too - in a more subtle yet no less deadly (spiritually) way.

I found this statistic just the other day:

Some 98 percent of American households have a television set or sets, one or more of which is kept on for about seven hours a day. Children are heavy consumers, spending four hours watching television every day. Some 54 percent of children have a television in their bedrooms.

The Strangest Day

What “defining moments” have you experienced in your life? Scoring the winning goal. Flunking the final exam. Finding your “soul-mate.” Totaling your car. Watching your parents divorce. One day, every one of us will look back and point to key moments both good and bad–where we can say, “This is it…this made ALL the difference.”

The new Jonah33 album “The Strangest Day” is out and Vince Lichlyter - the lead singer - has been blogging about the tracks on it - one by one. Check it out:
