Here’s something we all need to be reminded of from time to time:

A serpent cannot be charmed.
(Alternate title: pet sins are dangerous.)

Psalm 58:4-5
Their poison is like the poison of a serpent;
They are like the deaf cobra that stops its ear,
Which will not heed the voice of charmers,
Charming ever so skillfully.

While we may believe that we are charming it (i.e. - sin), in the end, it has charmed us into thinking we are in control…

Proverbs 23:32
At the last it bites like a serpent,
And stings like a viper.
