Plumb - 'Chaotic Resolve'

MP3 samples:

Recorded in Nashville, with sweeping, orchestral strings recorded in Prague, Chaotic Resolve is lush and luminous with the intuitive production talents of Matt Bronleewe. “It’s been exciting to witness the evolution of such an impressive artist as Plumb,” says Bronleewe. “In some respects, this album goes back to the foundations of what makes Plumb unique: raw, lyrically introspective vocals floating across an epic soundscape. I hope people respond to Chaotic Resolve with the same amount of enthusiasm we had while making it.”

“I make records that are honest, about the high and low points in my life and experiences that I think are worth noting in a song. But I also want to tackle the difficult subjects in life, because I want people to know that the hard times, just like a piece of coal, can be turned into a diamond.”

“The title Chaotic Resolve came about because by the time I made this album I had resolved much of the discord in my life,” Plumb explains. “To me, ‘resolve’ does not always mean ‘fix.’ It may mean that I’ve resolved to accept a certain situation as it is, or I have resolved to change my expectations of a person. I wrote the song “Manic” about someone in my life whose behavior I wished would change. There was so much chaos in our relationship before I resolved to love them for who they are. Every song on the album relates to that philosophy. My objective was to communicate the message of chaos and resolve together.”

The need for Internet evangelism

Friday, February 24th, 2006

“…young people around the world are hungry to know more about Jesus, and the Internet is an ideal way to reach them. This generation of students doesn’t go to a library or a teacher for information on a topic - whenever possible, they go straight to the Internet.” - Mark Gauthier

Undisguised

O Wounded King - Kara Williamson (MP3 clip)

O wounded king, so fiercely stained
So full of love, so filled with pain
Once crucified, my soul to save
Against the sky Your hands once made

You died a man, still You were God
Heaven’s spotless lamb shedding human blood
Such love and mercy unrestrained
I could not ask for such a thing

Oh perfect plan
Oh love divine
When Your deep wounds reached into mine
Oh sinless friend of sinners poor
I thank You for the cross You bore

Hands and Feet Project

Would you like to have them speak at your church or to your youth group about their activities in Haiti with the Hands and Feet Project?

We’d really like to come to your church to let you know about the Hands & Feet Project – the Children’s Village we founded on the southern coast of Haiti — and how you can be involved! How would you like to take your youth group down to Haiti…. and maybe we’ll even tag along?

Check out their blog on Myspace for all of the details…

By the way…did you hear that Audio Adrenaline won a Grammy this year?

What class of Christian are you?

Monday, February 20th, 2006

a) great
b) good
c) fair
d) poor

Actually, there aren’t ranks of Christians - no matter how we may sometimes act like there are. That’s the wonderful thing about grace - it levels the playing field, so to speak. The ground at the foot of the cross is the most level place on earth. There is absolutely no way we can earn salvation … or earn our keep … or need to move up the ranks. Salvation is in God’s hand, faith is all that is required on our part to accept what He offers. He has the responsibility of staying true to His word, and keeping us safe in His fold. While our flesh doesn’t reform and therefore our propensity for sin never changes, our attitudes and feelings toward it does - thanks to the Holy Spirit indwelling the believer. So, the Christian life is not about how good we are, but whether we are yielding to the Spirit or not. Maybe the Christian life could be better defined as the Spirit filled life. Note: if we are filled with something, is there room for anything else?
