Update from the Middle East
Monday, December 19th, 2005We just recently received this update from Campus Crusade for Christ International:
Praise God with me for His Kingdom continues to advance in challenging regions like the Middle East and North Africa! Recent reports have just come in from staff members serving in this part of the world and I wanted to share with you some of the highlights:
- An Arabic television program is broadcasting throughout the Middle East to help believers in the region grow in their relationship with the Lord.
- A local ministry has held a worship concert and evangelistic gathering inside a very closed nation.
- Hundreds of believers in the Middle East are right now going through discipleship training so they can be equipped to reach people for Christ.
How encouraging that even in the face of considerable costs that come with following Jesus in these regions, many are still coming to faith. One staff member shares:
“This October, a young man called a Communications Center in the region. He had [recently received] a New Testament and a copy of the JESUS film. At the end of the film he prayed to receive Christ. When he told his family, they rejected him. His father was particularly upset with him. He also ran into problems at his place of employment when he told them. He called asking the Center to send him More Than a Carpenter by Josh McDowell. He asked for prayer. Pray for this man and for many like him. Pray they can be in fellowship with other believers.”
Your prayerful support is critical in the efforts to reach people like this young man for Christ. As this staff member states, “For lives to be changed, it must be God at work. You, yourself, have been praying with faith for God to work. Thank you.”
