God of Miracles

Here’s a short update from Campus Crusade for Christ International ministries. It speaks of a great hunger for truth around the world:

…through the Internet outreach alone, 2 million people from the Middle East region have contacted us over the past 12 months to find out about Christ. This is just one of their stories:

“For those who are working on this website, peace be with you. I am sending you this email and I have the desire to know more about Christianity. I want you to know that I received the Bible …I am reading it often, especially before sleeping. However, I still miss many of the facts about Christianity and my desire is to know more about Christianity especially how to pray, how to know God more and be more spiritual but not just in words. I want to be very close to God in my feelings. My goal is to find the Godly truth, so please help me.”

Praise God! And the results of the Internet outreach are just one example of a tremendous surge in spiritual hunger … of men and women desperate to finally find out about Jesus. One volunteer recently distributing Bibles exclaimed, “I could not get them out fast enough.” Another shared how people are asking for extra Bibles and literature to give to family and friends- -an amazing development in a culture where investigating Christ can be very dangerous and people often don’t tell their families about it for years.

Another man asked a staff member, “What is the difference between Mohammed and Jesus?” He had had two dreams in which a man he identified as Jesus told him, “I am the truth. Follow me.” He told the staff member that he hadn’t been able to find anyone else to explain his dream and answer his question. After two hours of talking about Christ, the young man declared, “I have made my decision. I want to follow Jesus and I want to be baptized.”
