Chuck Colson at Union University - September 23, 2005 Union University

Here’s a link to a recent speech Chuck Colson gave at Union University in Jackson, TN where he talks about how the Christian worldview is the only worldview that makes sense in reality. He also challenges students to seek truth, and to live it out - and be ready to defend it in a fallen world (1 Peter 3:15).

Thoughts on obedience

Friday, October 21st, 2005

Nothing good can come from rebelling against the Lord, and nothing bad can come from obeying Him. Obedience is the pathway to wisdom and blessing. When we conform our will to God’s, we place our hope and trust in the One who created us and loves us without condition. A life well lived is one in which our eyes are focused upon the Lord, our ears are open to the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit, and our hearts feast on Scripture. When we choose this existence, we guarantee ourselves the finest that God has to offer. There is no second best for the obedient child of the Father.

God of miracles

Thursday, October 20th, 2005

I read the following in a recent newsletter from Campus Crusade for Christ:

When I think of the powerful work of the Holy Spirit in this part of the world, the following story from one of our area leaders comes to mind.

“I was on a trip … and debriefing with staff who crisscross the country sharing the Gospel… Several of our staff told me of how they were on their way to a village they had never been to, trusting that they would have an opportunity to share God’s love. They lost their way, could not find the village and stopped in the middle of nowhere to regroup and decide which way to head next.
“Out of a nearby group of trees they saw a man approaching their car; they thought it was strange because, to their knowledge, they were miles from any village. As the man came closer he became more and more excited, waving his hands and yelling.
“Our staff in the car became a bit concerned because they did not know what to think of this ‘crazy’ seeming man. As the man got closer they heard him yell, ‘You are them! You are the men in my dream! Can you tell me the truth?’
“[They] found out that several evenings before the man had had a dream in which he had seen some men that he was told would bring him the truth. He left his home in search of these men. The reason he became so excited as he approached the staff in the car is that he recognized them as the men in his dream. (more…)

TV Guide Trivia (Jewel Case)

I found out about a recent report that studied prime-time TV. CNN has the full story here:

4 Fox shows named worst for families

I found this very telling,

Bozell said the group couldn’t even come up with 10 prime-time shows it would recommend for family viewing. Its list stops at nine.
