Texas-based Christian rockers Altarmotive attended an acoustic show by platinum-selling band Vertical Horizon last week in El Paso. While the band only planned to be spectators at the concert, Vertical Horizon’s Matt Scannell heard the harmonies coming from the front row seats and called Altarmotive up on stage to take over the vocals of their hit song “Everything You Want.”

The crowd erupted as Altarmotive, local favorites in the region, took the lead vocals with their trademark pop rock harmonies. Local Top-40 radio station KISS FM (KSII 93.1) reported on the improptu performance the following day, calling it “the highlight of the show.”

Altarmotive has been gaining tremendous notoriety in recent months, thanks in part to their high energy live performances. “Sonically, Altarmotive is one of the best bands I’ve heard,” stated Jim Ward, the lead singer and guitarist of the Geffen Records’ band Sparta after attending a recent show.

Altarmotive recently completed production on their debut CD What We Have Inside Us, which was produced by Billy Buchanan, lead singer and bassist for the Elevate Records group Fusebox. The band is currently finalizing a deal with a Nashville-based label and a spring release is anticipated.
