Do you know any Hollaback girls?

According to urbandictionary.com a “hollaback” girl is one who literally “hollers back” when someone makes disparaging remarks about her character. Steffani says she is not one of these and prefers to make her point physically rather than verbally.

How have our perceptions of what is considered “feminine” changed since your grandmother’s day? We may say that anyone can be what they want and should not be judged by stereotypes but we need to find a measuring stick or standard for the word “feminine”. What do you think it should be in this day and age?

Is there a time when it is okay to respond physically to someone hurting you? What is a justifiable war?

When Jesus said, “Turn the other cheek,” he wasn’t telling people to be weak. In that time Roman citizens were allowed to backhand Jews with their right hand. To strike someone with the left hand or the open palm was not allowed. To offer the other cheek was a way to take the power back in that situation without getting violent or physical. How can you best defuse a difficult situation with someone without looking weak and still maintaining the upper hand?
