God using a song…

Alyssa, Lauren and Becca Barlow

Pick up the latest issue of Christian Music Planet. There are many great interviews with the likes of Brian Welch, Rebecca St. James, and Stephen Baldwin. Also in the July/August issue, there is a great interview with Barlow Girl. Barlow Girl consists of three sisters (Becca, Alyssa, and Lauren Barlow) from Elgin Illinois and they love to rock. If you saw the Dove Awards this year, you know what I’m talking about. Check out this powerful excerpt from the magazine interview…

“We met a girl whose boyfriend committed suicide while she was on the phone with him,” Becca Barlow remembers. “She was living in complete hopelessness. The mother of the boy called her and said, ‘It’s all your fault.’ She felt so much shame and guilt that she decided to take her life as well.

“The night before she was going to kill herself, she was throwing things around her room, completely angry at God. She threw her CD player and it hit the wall and fell to the floor. Instead of breaking, it started playing a song on our CD called ‘Surrender.’ She ended up listening to that song over and over and wrote us a letter about how God used ‘Surrender’ to keep her from taking her life. She said it gave her hope and a will to live again.”

To read the rest of the interview and get a heads up on what their new album will be like, pick up this latest Christian Music Planet at your local book store - or try this link if you can’t find it anywhere:
