The Wedding featured on MTV

MTV\'s Pimp My Ride - The Complete First Season

Rambler Records rock band The Wedding’s music has been selected by media powerhouse MTV Networks for use on its popular reality TV show “Pimp My Ride.” The episode, which aired Sunday, July 24, 2005, featured several songs from the band’s self-titled debut album. Clips from “One Eye Open,” “Kids Like Us,” “Wake The Regiment” and “Joyride” played during the 30-minute program. The second episode will showcase segments from “This Time I’m Leaving” and the band’s current radio single “Song for the Broken,” among others.

“Pimp My Ride” is hosted by rapper Xzibit and follows the crew at West Coast Customs as they restore run down vehicles. Audiences watch as average everyday automobiles are transformed into driveable works of art as they are customized to reflect the driver’s personality with the latest accessories. New episodes premiere every Sunday evening on MTV. The show is currently in its second season.

“”I’ve been working as a music supervisor for ‘Pimp My Ride’ since the first season and am constantly looking for great music for each new episode. The Wedding is a great band whose energy and exceptional melodies fit perfectly with the spirit of the show. I’ve placed several songs off their record in this season’s episodes” , comments MTV music supervisor Jose Cuello.

“Ever since ‘Pimp My Ride’ came out, we’ve all watched it a ton. It’s an honor that they would use so many of our songs on their show,” exclaimed band member Trevor Sarver.

Having their music featured prominently on MTV is just another addition to this young band’s string of successes in 2005. The Wedding’s debut radio single, “Move this City” spent four consecutive weeks at the #1 spot on to R&R’s Christian Rock Chart. Their current single, “Song for the Broken,” continues to climb the charts nationwide. They recently toured on The O.C. Supertones farewell tour and this summer’s “Safety in the Darkness Tour” with fellow emo rock band Forever Changed and Kids in the Way. Leading up to this year, the band has opened for such artists as Bleach, John Reuben, Number One Gun, Anberlin and Spoken, as well as the 2004 “Super Tour” with The O.C. Supertones and Superchick. The Wedding was also featured on the 2003 “Shake Stuff Up” tour sponsored by the well-known “Got Milk” campaign.

The Wedding’s self-titled debut album is available on Rambler Records, a division of BHT Entertainment, LLC, and is distributed by Word Distribution. Additional information about The Wedding and their music can be found by visiting their website at http://www.theweddingrock.com.
