What the enemy doesn’t want us to understand…
Note: By enemy, I mean Satan. I don’t mean a political party or representative, or anything of flesh and blood.
God’s Word is trustworthy and true. Ever since the Garden of Eden, Satan has tried to get man to doubt God’s Word. Remember what he said to Eve - “Has God said?” Now he has the luxury of not having to be so bold. Instead, he can be more subtle and appeal to man’s intellectualism and society’s relativism to explain away the unchanging truth of God’s Word. While society and culture changes, man’s sin problem still remains, and man’s need for a Savior still remains. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, and faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. The next time someone tells you that the Bible is not inerrant, ask that person to direct you to the parts that are erroneous. Then ask yourself why you are taking that person’s word over God’s Word.
Prayer is powerful. For we don’t fight against political parties or policies - instead we are in a battle with the spiritual realm. We need to pray that spiritually blinded eyes will opened to the truth. We need to pray for discernment and wisdom in such a time where there are worldly influences pulling on us - every hour of every day.
He (Satan) is real. Deception is his modus operandi. I sometimes think we believe that Satan will politely knock on our door and be standing there wearing a ‘Hi my name is …’ nametag. If deception wasn’t subtle and surreptitious, it wouldn’t be deception. It’s imperative that we understand that spiritual warfare is real. God’s Word says that Satan came to kill, steal, and destroy. That’s a harsh description. Would Jesus exaggerate the truth? Of course not! So we know that this is serious. We also know that he masquerades as an angel of light to deceive us and to get us to compromise the truth. We are powerless in this battle without the authority of God’s word and the power of prayer.
