This is news too…
While it seems that most news reports dwell on the negative, there is good news to report.
For example, Campus Crusade for Christ International Ministries is reporting that many are looking to Christ in South Asia where the tsunami did so much damage:
Throughout the affected areas, communities are now, more than ever, open to hearing the Gospel. At one location, 70 people accepted Christ in just one day! And this was certainly not an isolated occurrence. A national staff member working at another location offered the following perspective:
“I have led several summer projects to south Thailand and if you share with 1,000 people in two weeks, maybe one hundred will indicate a desire for a personal relationship with Jesus. Now in just two hours, 95 [people came to know Christ]. God is using the tsunami to open doors and open hearts to the Gospel.”

There is good news in the Middle East as well.
…in one closed country, staff are still working to follow up and disciple all the people who were touched by viewing The Passion of The Christ last spring. And in another extremely sensitive nation, staff just graduated 720 believers from evangelism training. This group is now ready to reach out to their desperate countrymen for Christ.
There has also been very encouraging news from Iraq…
According to one staff member, the elections there “were a spiritual breakthrough, pulling down the wall of fear.” In addition, thousands of Iraqi school children recently received schoolbags filled with urgently needed school supplies, offered alongside Christian literature.
Bibles are also now in demand and becoming more readily available…
To date, funds have been received to purchase 750,000 Bibles for distribution in some of the most closed nations on earth.
…
…in the months surrounding the recent elections, 10,000 Iraqis were reached during distributions of Arabic New Testaments and other Christian material.
