I just got a letter in the mail about a new communication center that Campus Crusade for Christ Intl is working on building in Iraq. Here’s a little bit of the news…
Like our other Communications Centers, this one will field thousands of letters and emails from people who want to know more about Christ and have nowhere else to turn for answers. Our dedicated staff team will write back to these men and women - answering their questions, providing materials like Bibles and books, and discipling them in Christ.
The new center will contain a library, a large meeting room, and a computer center. The hopes are that this become a well-equipped, central facility to meet the spiritual needs of people. Here’s more…
Now is an ideal time to begin this project; the elections in Iraq seem to have resulted in not only a new sense of political openness, but spiritual openness as well. In fact, in the two weeks after the election, staff distributed 10,000 Bibles! A staff leader in Iraq explained, “The elections were a spiritual breakthrough, pulling down the wall of fear … The danger still exist[s], but people are not afraid anymore!”
