Bono’s EDUN - responsible rockstar clothing
Sunday, March 27th, 2005U2’s lead singer BONO is now a frontman for a new line of ‘ethical’ clothing labeled EDUN - nude backwards or a clever ‘play’ on EDEN - the Biblical garden of paradise.
Samantha Critchell of the Associated Press reports that Bono’s mission is to let the clothes be a self sustaining relief effort - in fact a ‘hand up’ instead of a ‘hand out’.
His wife, Ali Hewson, says
Bono’s biggest impression of the Africans is that they don’t want charity, they want trade,” Hewson says. “They have pride, they’re very dignified people. They want to work. This company (Edun) is a business model that other people can follow.”
Edun also has teamed with Saks to give it nationwide and online distribution.
Jack White nearly attended Divinity School

In a CNN.com story, we learn that Jack White - producer of Loretta Lynn’s Grammy nominated ‘Van Lear Rose’ - was accepted to a seminary in Wisconsin. He later changed his mind.
