Brian Welch's baptism

The Jerusalem Post is reporting that just weeks after quitting his band and a drug habit, on Saturday, March 5th 2005, Pastor Ron Vietti baptized guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, a founding member of the band KoRn.

Welch said the ritual baptism had ‘washed away his anger.’

“Anger is a good thing, and if kids want to listen to KoRn, good, but there’s happiness after the anger. I’m going to show it through my actions how much I love my fans.” — Brian Welch

Here’s the link to video of Brian Welch’s Testimony at Valley Bible Fellowship .

Two months after his first visit to the Valley Bible Fellowship, Brian “Head” Welch, who announced his departure from Korn last week held a sort of Christian coming-out party here (Valley Bible Fellowship) in front of an estimated 10,000 churchgoers in three separate services.

You don’t need three syllable words to talk about religion.

“This is the book of life right here,” he said, pulling a Bible from his back pocket. “It’s not about religion, it’s not about this church, it’s not about me. It’s about the book of life and everybody needs to be taught this. It’s crazy, it’s gonna do stuff like this, like change a guy in a rock band.”

Welch also announced a trip to Israel where he plans to get baptized in the Jordan river. When he returns from Israel, Welch plans to launch a solo career, with music about his experiences as a new Christian, and then give the money to charities and to Valley Bible Fellowship’s plan to build “rock and roll churches” across America.
