Pretty cool. Here’s a quick note from a staff member currently working in that area:

“All our staff, after seeing and hearing all about these people [affected by the tsunami], said they have never seen or witnessed anything like this. With much pain and grief we all prayed for the people. When we talk and interact with these people we can see a great relief on their faces from the pain and grief. God can comfort them even in the midst of this terrific tragedy.”

Founding member / guitarist leaves Korn to focus on his religious beliefs

Saturday, February 26th, 2005

Just caught this on the AP. I probably couldn’t name you one Korn song. But, I do admire people putting action behind their beliefs.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A founding member of Korn is leaving the band to focus on his religious beliefs.

“Korn has parted ways with guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch, who has chosen Jesus Christ as his savior, and will be dedicating his musical pursuits to that end,” said a statement posted Tuesday on Korn’s Web site.

Welch told The Bakersfield Californian that his decision might be surprising to some. “A lot of people think I’m crazy. I don’t care.”

Welch said he’d become increasingly disenchanted with producing heavy metal music that invokes dark and morbid images.

“Those guys in the band, they’re not bad guys. They’re just a bunch of kids getting marketed how these guys in the big corporate firms want to do,” Welch said. “It makes us look like bad people, but we’re really just a bunch of kids who never had a chance to grow up.”

Head’s new Web site — www.HeadToChrist.com — launched Friday (February 25).

A word about priorities…

Although we don’t want to worship the Bible or use it to simply stock-pile knowledge that “puffs up,” we should never rob Scripture of its central place in the Christian life. Is instruction in the Word of God a non-negotiable priority for you? - Michael Svigel, Insight for Living Ministries

Terri Schiavo is declared a mere ‘case’, or ‘process’ - NOT a human being.

Here’s the AP story - Man Cleared to Remove Wife’s Feeding Tube

With all the talk about “sanctity of human life” these days, this case speaks more of our calloused hearts than just about any. Note how they don’t like to talk about her (after all, this case is about whether she lives or dies) - instead choosing to speak in legal terms.

The judge wrote that he was no longer comfortable granting delays in the family feud, which has been going on for nearly seven years and has been waged in every level of Florida’s court system. He said the case must end.

George Felos, Michael Schiavo’s attorney, issued a statement applauding Greer’s decision.

“I am very pleased that the Court has recognized there must be a finality to this process.” Felos said.
