Report: CIA paints bleak Iraq picture
The situation in Iraq is unlikely to improve anytime soon, according to a classified cable and briefings from the Central Intelligence Agency,
Do you ever wonder how they get access to all the classified information and briefings? I do. It makes me wonder two things:
1. Is the information valid? (They can never give a source - they could just be making this stuff up)
2. Are they acquiring the information through illegal means? (Should there be an investigation into the legality of the methods and ethics of the media? I mean, turnabout is fair play right?)
Spokesmen for the White House and the CIA told the Times that they could not discuss intelligence matters and classified documents.
How many times do the media hounds need to hear this? It’s classified!
The cable, described as “unusually candid,” cautioned that security in the country is likely to deteriorate unless the Iraqi government makes significant progress in asserting its authority and building up the economy, the paper said.
Need I say it again? Duh!!
At a news conference with Cheney earlier in the day, Karzai was quick to thank the United States.“Today whatever we have achieved — the peace … the reconstruction … the fact that Afghanistan is again a respected member of the international community — is because of the help that the United States of America gave us,” he said.
“Without that help, Afghanistan would be in the hands of terrorists, destroyed, poverty stricken and without it’s children going to school or getting an education.”
What!?! How did this make it into the news? Somebody thanked the U.S. for their action and it actually made it onto CNN? I predict an article in the next few days complaining about puppet governments.

If its classified and they got the info. someone spoke on condition of anonymity. Some people risk jobs for dissemination of information.

Interesting point… so what they’re doing is illegal and not just immoral. They are disseminating government classified information (sometimes at the cost of human life) to public media. Hmmmm…. correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t that have been considered treason in the past. Either way, it’s still unethical.
And I’m sure they do it without any monetary incentive too… riiight…

I am so happy you knew a big word like disseminating.
