The moral of the story - having riches isn’t all we anticipate it to be. I suspect that lottery winners find their lives more unfulfilling after the big jackpot than before. I suppose if that were not true, we’d see tons of marketing campaigns by folks that run lotteries showing us the benefits (read: joy, contentment, etc) by “showing off” the winners of the past. But we don’t hear anything about their joy, contentment - or anything for that matter. I guess that’s another reminder of how the world works. We are shown and tempted by only what’s appealing, while the reality of the consequences is swept under the rug.
