hell on earth…
Or at least that sounds like what the scientists are predicting in the future.
Check out this CNN story from today…
Study: Arctic warming at twice the global rate
Follow their logic:
- scientists monitor temperatures
- they see some irregularies
- they jump to the conclusion that the problem is fossil fuels
- then it must be our fault
- which means Bush is to blame for backing out of the Kyoto treaty
Reality Check:
How did they know that fossil fuels are to blame? Why do they think the problem is manmade and not the result of natural events? How did they conclude this? They don’t say. If we assume that they are correct, what about all of the nations that do not regulate themselves? What about the rogue nations? Why is the focus on America? They don’t say. Ok, let’s assume it’s our fault. Why did they bring up Kyoto? Kyoto is the latest environmental/political football that is being kicked around and they can conveniently link their ‘findings’ with the current President. And we all know that Bush is all about trashing the world’s eco-system in the name of American imperialism…or at least that’s what I’ve heard.
Sorry, this report just isn’t believable.
It’s too bad that ‘environmental science’ seems to be more psychological than factual. A report like this comes out and we just have to take them at their word…nevermind that there is such variance in these reports that next spring a study will come out to contradict these findings. Oh well, what’s important is that we get fired up - and ‘feel’ like something is going on, whether it really is or not. CNN took a poll today - just to see how well these reports are working…

Yep, they’re working.
