Liberalism vs. Christian Worldview
Political liberalism tends to be closely related to humanism…and humanism by definition is Godlessness. When the Democrat party deepens it’s allegience to liberal (sometimes called ‘progressive’) policies, it drives Christians away. Nothing shows this more than yesterday’s election. Bush got the overwhelming support of Christians which most likely can be said is the deciding factor. The final nationwide exit polls showed that voters had ‘moral values’ on the top of their priority list - ahead of terrorism and the economy. That stunned many, and surprised even some conservatives.
To further show the attitudes that are at the core of liberalism and how hostile they are to the Christian worldview, check out these articles I found online. I know that some will say I picked out an extreme viewpoint, however I think the articles are informative for what they are. Notice the sharpness of the attacks on Bush and his social/moral views - which quickly turns into an attack on the church. Also notice how irrational these articles are as they are driven by intense emotion instead of reason, logic, and truth. The inaccuracies of their claims can only be chalked up to the authors being blinded (and hampered) by their liberal worldview which has left them grasping for sympathetic readers instead of pursuading the readers by the validity of their arguments.
These two articles in their entirety can be found by clicking the title links below.
>there was the decision to surf on the anti-gay backlash that first surfaced in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the so-called sodomy laws, and intensify it as soon as the Massachusetts Supreme Court decided (as it was clear it would) that denying marriage equality to gay people was a violation of fundamental civil rights. The tools to scapegoat gays were the Federal Marriage Amendment and the 11 anti-gay state referenda.

>The exit polls showed that 21 percent of voters said that “moral values” — more than either Iraq or the economy — was what determined their vote. This is, after all, a country drowning in censorious, politicized religiosity. Nowhere did this strategy work better than in Ohio, where the southern tier is the cultural equivalent of a Deep South state, drowning in religiously-inculcated homo-hate; and where traditionally Democratic working class Catholic voters — whom Kerry failed to bind to him with an economic program that could arouse their passions — were peeled off in sufficient numbers to reduce Kerry’s margins in the larger cities.
The Election Of Homophobia And Misogyny - It Is Time To Confront Theocratic Bigotry Head On
>…people who turn to Bush and to Evangelicalism do so for stability and order. As everything falls apart, belief provides organizations and institutions, and ideological stability. Religious organization offers the soul of soulless conditions.

>Progressives are loath to offer a frontal criticism of the theocracy that has overtaken the South and the Midwest — where under the command of tolerance we have to endure the intolerance toward women and their bodies, toward gays and lesbians, towards anyone who does not fit the compass of the “moral values” mass-produced by the established churches. It is time to throw off our forbearance and open a direct debate on the suppression of rational argument in favor of theocratic bigotry.
Homophobia elected Bush.
Misogyny elected Bush.
Unreason elected Bush.
