What has the U.N. done?

Here’s a story where U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan talks about the current problems in the world…

“Today the rule of law is at risk around the world,” he said. “Again and again, we see fundamental laws shamelessly disregarded — those that ordain respect for innocent life, for civilians, for the vulnerable — especially children.”

It’s more than just the disrespect of law, it’s the disrespect of our fellow man.

The U.S. president strongly defended his decision to invade Iraq — an apparent reaction to Annan’s claim last week that the U.S.-led war was “illegal” — and appealed to the international community to support its interim government.

So far, what has the U.N. done to fight terror? They didn’t even enforce their own resolutions against Saddam’s dictatorship in Iraq!

Reality Check: Terrorists are committing crimes against humanity. Everyone should be outraged and driven to action to fight this evil. The fact that the U.N. looks more critically at the U.S. policy to fight terror than they do the actual terrorists is downright frightening!

And now we have John Kerry who wants to be President and is willing to let the U.N. manage the war in Iraq?

During an hourlong appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Kerry called for a new mission authorized by the United Nations to help rebuild Iraq, blamed President Bush for failing to lay out a clear strategy and charged he had misled top aides in his administration as well as the American public.

I would argue that John Kerry is in a make-believe world!
