Remembering 9/11
Today was a day of remembrance… remembrance of an event unprecedented in recent American history. A day we remembered smoke and fire, death and carnage, fear and regret, shock and numbness - at an attack on our own soil. A day the world changed for the United States.
I’m astonished at how many people have forgotten. It’s about time more people started remembering… the reason why thousands of innocent people died, and the reason why our U.S. military forces are giving their lives on foreign land - to keep it from happening again.
Today our hearts and prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones - both in the events of 9/11 and in the military response to that horrific event. We remember those whose lives were lost unjustly - and those who are fighting with their very lives today for justice and freedom for those of us who remain to remember.
