Imploding Kitty…

Kitty Kelley Book Implodes as Key Witness Recants

I suppose I should first apologize for the tabloid headline - but I model my journalistic integrity after CNN.

I love it when propaganda implodes, explodes, or otherwise “plodes” in some fashion. There is a great sense of satisfaction about it for me… particularly when it’s sensationalized tabloid spectacle that goes fizzle in a matter of moments.

Here’s my favorite portion of this article, a quote from Doubleday - the publishers of Kelley’s book:

“Doubleday stands fully behind the accuracy of Ms. Kelley’s reporting and believes that everything she attributes to Sharon Bush in her book is an accurate account of their discussions,” Associate Publisher Suzanne Herz told the Post.

Speaking of integrity… isn’t it more than a bit dishonest to continue to publish a book when the individual around whose allegations the book is centered - publicly recants? Shouldn’t there at least be some sort of significant blurb mentioning that the primary allegations are at best questionable?

I understand that a great investment has been made by Doubleday, and that they are looking for a return… but what is the price for integrity?
