Berg Died for Bush, Rumsfeld ‘Sins’ - Father

The father of Nick Berg who was viciously, mercilessly killed by terrorists in Iraq had this to say today…

“My son died for the sins of George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld. This administration did this”

I’m going to ignore all of the obvious questions in this statement such as:
1) Is there moral equivalence between George Bush and Donald Rumsfeld and the terrorists that killed his son?
2) Why was his son over in Iraq?
3) Was he forced to be there?
4) Did he have a chance to leave?
5) Was he aware of the danger?

Instead I wonder why this was a top news story on Reuters? Is this man’s opinion supposed to alert the public to something? Is this a ‘fact’ that deserves top news story status? Well, it is if you want to use the emotional statements by a father who is dealing with the tragic death of his son as an opportunity to pin more blame at the feet of this administration. All the emotion in the world won’t hide the truth and facts of reality. I can see as the months go by that heaven and earth seem to be lining up to do a very specific thing, and that’s to do whatever it takes to remove this administration from office. I don’t know why there is such hatred for them other than the fact that many in the administration are Christians and they hold a worldview that is at odds with theirs.

The rise of terrorism around the world is doing a couple of things: it’s showing us a) who see the world as it really is and realize that the world is bigger than them, a place where evil battles good on a daily basis b)those who see it through the eyes of emotion and self.

As time goes by, the former view holders will be more aware of the urgency of the time they live in and be strengthened and encouraged by putting their faith in the one that holds eternity. While the latter will grow more angry, bitter, and hopeless as this world becomes darker and further from the ideal that they strive to attain.
