The quality of mercy is not strained… well, maybe it is.

The quality of mercy is not strained

…well, maybe it is.

John Kerry has been out on the campaign trail lately and as this article shows, he is demanding answers from the Bush administration.

On May 1, 2003, the president donned a flight suit and landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln. Speaking under a banner that declared “Mission Accomplished,” Bush appeared to be declaring victory in the war.

Kerry said, “Now we know with an incredible collapse of security in Iraq, we know to what degree those words ‘mission accomplished’ missed the mark and to what degree we remain challenged today.”

These are tough words from Kerry who was at a church service recently where he said…

“The Scriptures say, ‘What does it profit my brother if someone says he has faith, but does not have works,’” Kerry continued. “When we look at what is happening in America today, ‘Where are the works?’ For it is also written, ‘The doers of the word are no hearers only.’”

Yet the verses that Kerry quotes from the Bible are right after an admonition on the perils of not being merciful toward our fellow man….

Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful.
