Dean Calls FCC Probe of Breast Incident ‘Silly’
Monday, February 2nd, 2004Dean Calls FCC Probe of Breast Incident ‘Silly’
Howard Dean commented on the FCC probe of yesterday’s Super Bowl halftime ’show’ by saying “I find that to be a bit of a flap about nothing.” Keep in mind that there were 90 million viewers tuned in to a non-cable station during the family hour. Dean further went out on a limb and said “I think the FCC probably has a lot of other things they should be pursuing.” That got me thinking….what is the FCC supposed to do? I checked their website and found…
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent United States government agency, directly responsible to Congress. The FCC was established by the Communications Act of 1934 and is charged with regulating interstate and international communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable. The FCC’s jurisdiction covers the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. possessions.
I disagree with Dean. I feel this is exactly what they should be doing….their job.
